
Company President Honored with State Award
2009
At National EMS Week ceremonies held at the State Capitol on May 20th Robert Ziegler, President of Emergency Resource Management was presented with the States 2009 Gillooly-Lawton Award. Presented by David Lowell of Hunter’s Ambulance, the Award is honor of the 2 Hunter’s employees who dedicated their lives to serving EMS and who were tragically killed in their Ambulance by a drunk driver.
This award, which had not been awarded to anyone since 2006, cited Mr. Ziegler’s 32 distinguished years of active dedicated service and devotion to EMS, during which time he has been a Paramedic for 21 years and an EMS Instructor for 26 years. Aside from the 20 active years he devoted to the Portland Fire Dept., during which he headed up the EMS Division for 9 years, he currently holds positions on several state and local commissions including the Capitol Region Emergency Planning Committee’s ESF 5 and ESF 8 Sub-Committee’s and the State EMS Advisory Council’s Legislative Sub-Committee.
Bob has served 3 terms as President of Mid-State EMS Council (1990’s), 2 terms as Vice President of Eastern CT Regional EMS Council (1990’s) and a former Board member of the South Central EMS Council, to name a few.
